Cardus (formerly the Work Research Foundation) is a really cool think tank in Canada (the kind of think tank that I would love to work for). Their deal is: “to influence people to a Christian view of work and public life. We seek to explore and unfold the dignity of work, the meaning of economics, and the structures of civil society, in the context of underlying patterns created by God.” I love this stuff.
WRF has a worldview magazine, Comment, which is edited by Gideon Strauss. I have heard Strauss speak at my school more than once and he can explain worldview better than most. He is also really into talking about what you love.
Gideon Strauss believes that if one reflects on the things one loves, they will begin to know themselves more completely, as well as forge deeper commitments to the things they know they ought to love. In the spirit of Strauss’ Comment and ’50 things I love about…,’ I intend to make a weekly list of ’30 things I love about…’ on various subjects, with little explanations why.
